Two sold out screenings of “The Maze” at the Art Gallery of Hamilton!

I just got back from Hamilton, Canada where we had two sold out screenings of “William Kurelek’s The Maze” at the Art Gallery of Hamilton as part of the major exhibition “The Messenger“.  What helped make these screenings so special was that  fans of Kurelek could walk around the gallery before and after the screening and see many of the paintings that were featured in the film.  Also, many of Kurelek’s family members were there to witness the film for the first time.

Many audience members shared their emotional reactions toward the film during the Q&A and said that they were very moved and fascinated by Kurelek’s story.  I had the honor of participating on the panel with William Kurelek’s son Stephen and William’s sister Nancy to help answer questions from the audience.
Special thanks to Laurie Kilgour-Walsh, Toby Bruce, Annette Paiement and everyone at the Art Gallery of Hamilton that made this event such a success.

While I was out there I conducted some fascinating interviews with many of William Kurelek’s family members as well as close friends for our follow up film “Out of the Maze“.
more to come……
